I think that buffalo range and fox valley are the best tracks ive ever rode at. Fox valley is a little better than buffalo range because its smooth dirt an ottawa is a clay track........i recomend these 2 tracks to any real motocross rider

I disagree with the previous post. Buffalo has better tracks and much better trail riding than Fox Valley.

Note to editor, I don't see KI Tracks on your list.

On your post about Foxvally and Buffalo Range. Buffalo has been closed as of 2009 with no reopen date.

Buffalo Range should be reopening hopefully this year because they are making repairs for bikes for the new season.

Buffalo Range is closed for riding forever unless something changes on their website. I saw their website back in January and was able to get in touch with the owner at Buffalo and he said that the property where we ride was sold and that the new owners did not want to lease it out for riding.. They will still have the shooting park and also have the bike shop, but it sounded to me like the riding aspect is gone for good.

Joliet MX has a great mx Track and a Really fun SX Track..Both are groomed well in the summer.
Only Problem is the stupid Membership Crap..

I'm gonna try that one in Rockford and Fox Valley, and for those ones that are real far away I'll have to grab the camping gear.

Buffalo Range was by far the best mix of tracks and trail riding in the state. I learned how to ride at Buffalo, first on their 100cc and below track, then on their intermediate track then on their moto clay track. It took skill to ride their sand track... and you had to go through the sand to get to the waterfall and 3 caves. I have yet to find a park that has such amazing views and scenery, you could ride all day and not see the same thing twice.

It was sold this winter to Unimin mining corp., they won't be mining the property (for the amazing sand) for another decade and they were willing to allow Evelyn Muffler (the owner) to keep operating it as a riding park, but under the following conditions: she had to fence in the entire 500 acres and guarantee that no one would go out of bounds. The problem with that was she could not guarantee that people wouldn't go out of bounds (you have to go out of bounds a little to get to the caves) and in fact, so many people road off the property that the trails were well worn. I guess there was also an issue with riders drifting on to the adjoining railroad tracks, so the rail company got involved and placed their demands on operating the park as well. In the end I guess it just wasn't worth it to Ev.

My man and I almost cried when we heard the news, didn't believe it and drove all the way down there just to make sure. When we got the confirmation we STILL couldn't believe it, but trucked it over to The Cliffs instead. Decent riding, and nice scenery, but NOTHING compared to Buffalo, which was only for bikes. The trails at The Cliffs are so wide it is hardly a challenge, and the hills are weak compared to the incline at Buffalo. Their "moto-track" is mini and horribly "maintained" but better than nothing. The jumps have a lip so gnarly you could back flip a trike off of them.

Fox Valley Off-Road is not even comparable to Buffalo, but a close third to The Cliffs (hence why we went to the Cliffs and not FVOR when we got turned away at Buff). Looks like we will be making it a long weekend at the Badlands from now on!!

KI Tracks near Byron has riding on weekends from 10-7pm. It's usually an open format so plenty of riding. Nice kids track too.

they need to add I-57 mx to the list. its a new track in west frankfort illinois and its sik. the jumps are amazingly smooth and the tracks very fast...comparable to buffalo ranges clay track in length and jumps. and they have a 150ft uphill triple and a great set of whoops. highly reccommend you check it out... btw instead of fireworks at the finish line like supercross theres rumors of a sweet bubble machine
